Wizard of Oz Audition Call
Our spring production this year will be "The Wizard of Oz", directed by Peg Major. This crowd-pleasing musical is open to middle school and high school performer's, 7th through 12th grades. Auditions will be on Wednesday, February 17, 2010 at 3:45pm at the theater. Students may ride the school bus "D" with a signed note.

Audition requirements - students need to be prepared to sing.  They should have a song selected and bring the sheet music.  A piano player will be available.  NO ACAPPELLA.

Rehearsals begin, March 9, 2010, with two - three rehearsals per week and will increase as the show gets closer. There will be no rehearsal during Spring Break. Most rehearsals will be held after school, and on some Saturdays.  A schedule will be provided at auditions. Students should bring their schedules and let the director know if there are days they are not available.

We encourage seasoned performers, as well as first-time participants, to experience what promises to be a wonderful production.

Cost for this production is $150.00.

The show dates are May 7, 8, 9 and May 14, 15, 16, 2010.

Advance On-line Tickets: $10 (open seating)

At the door Tickets: $12

Join PHCT as we present a fabulous night of musical entertainment (four half hour sets each) from some of the best known entertainers around. Kicking off the evening will be Halie Loren and Matt Treder. Halie's award-winning jazz vocals, which have been compared to such greats as Billie Holiday, Norah Jones and Bonnie Raitt, are just incredible. You don't just hear her music, you experience it from the inside out.  And Matt's piano work is simply, in a word, sublime.

Set two features Forest Tomlinson and the Coast Fork Ramblers This old-style Bluegrass/folk band brings the sweet blend of original American roots music, with its foundation in Irish, Scottish and Welsh traditional music, to life. A total musical experience of guitar, fiddle, bass, drums and vocals that will make you true fans from the very first note!

After a brief intermission of scrumptious desserts (included with the price of admission) Matthew Pavilani will dazzle you on the piano. This accomplished musician will present modern compositions as well as classical pieces, and you will be amazed at the sounds he can create with just ten fingers. A mesmerizing experience, to be sure.

And bringing down the house will be the incredible ensemble of Calamity Jazz. This group of authentic traditional jazz performers has performed up and down the west coast, but they call our community home. From ragtime to New Orleans to San Francisco-style jazz, their sound is a real crowd-pleaser!
